Michael Jeffry Jordan, also known as MJ, is a renowned professional retired basketball player. During his first session, he came on the cover of Sports Illustrated with just after one month of entering into his sports career saying, ‘A Star is born.’ However, in the second season, he broke his foot which caused him to miss 64 games. However, he recovered completely and had the most prolific seasons in NBA history.
He was named the Most Defensive Player of the year award in 1988. While in the 1991 season Jordan won his second MVP award for the regular season. Jordan continued topping the Bulls Franchise in 1991. In the 1993 season, he lost the award to his friend Charles Barkley. However, later that year he lost $57,000 in Gambling. He announced retirement in 2003, citing a loss of desire to play the game.
He later, released his autobiography saying that he had been thinking about his retirement since early 1992. However, in 1993, he returned to the Bulls as an NBA player. In the year 1995, he eventually decided to quit baseball. He aggressively, trained for basketball in the years 1995 and 1996 and then in 1997 he was beaten by his friend Charles Malone for the NBA MVP. He consequently, retired for the second time in 1999. Playing in the final All-Star game in 2003, he crossed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the all-time leading player.
Jordan played two Olympic gold medal winning, basketball games. In 2006, Jordan bought a minority stake in the Charlotte Bobcats, becoming the team’s second largest shareholder. In the years 2012 and 2013, he filed to name the Bobcats’ name to Hornets which would be effective from the years 2014 and 2015.
He is also quite well known for his products’ endorsements, he began with Nike Air Jordans in the year 1985 and they are still famous today. Jordan also starred in 1996 movie Space Jam and became part-owner and head of basketball operations. Michael Jordan became the first Billionaire NBA player in history and the world’s second-richest African American.
